EXPERIENCE:
Michael Given has been involved in the appraisal of real property for more than twenty years. He has prepared real estate appraisals and provided consulting services for such agencies as The State of New York Department of Transportation and Department of Environmental Conservation, Suffolk County Department of Real Estate Planning, The United States Government, The Town of Southold Land Preservation Committee, Town of Southampton, Town of East Hampton, Town of Brookhaven, Town of Smithtown, as well as many other municipalities. He has also provided services to The Nature Conservancy, Peconic Land Trust, North Shore Land Alliance, as well as various Attorneys, individuals, and lending institutions.
Michael Given has appraised commercial, industrial, and residential use properties in the Counties of Nassau and Suffolk, and the New Cork Metropolitan Area. He has extensive experience in the appraisal of real property involving conservation easements, historic easements, eminent domain acquisition, estates and matrimonial matters, and has lectured on the appraisal process of each. He has been tested and qualified as a Fee Appraiser by the State of New York. He has been qualified and has testified as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of the State of New York as well as county level courts.
